Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Toronto is seeking an Employer Engagement and Retention Consultant to strengthen employer relationships, identify opportunities, and connect job seekers with suitable roles. You will support clients through the job search, placement, and retention processes, working with employers, clients, and community partners to achieve sustainable employment outcomes.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business, marketing, career development, social services, counselling, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum two years of related experience in job development, employer engagement, recruitment, counselling, job coaching, business development, or community outreach.
• Demonstrated experience building relationships with employers, community partners, and other stakeholders.
• Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment is an asset.
• Experience in government-funded or performance-based employment programs is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and electronic case-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with employers, community partners, and industry contacts to support sustainable employment outcomes.
• Identify employer hiring needs, labor market trends, and opportunities aligned with clients’ goals.
• Promote YMCA employment services, incentives, participant supports, and partnership opportunities.
• Expand employer networks and cultivate ongoing partnerships for repeat hiring opportunities.
• Match clients with suitable employment opportunities based on qualifications and goals.
• Coordinate interviews, workplace assessments, and placements; negotiate placement agreements and incentives.
• Provide coaching and problem-solving to clients and employers to promote positive workplace outcomes.
• Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of client, employer, and placement data.
