Employee Relations Specialist / Human Resources

Job Description

We are hiring a Regional Human Resources Manager responsible for employee relations, employment compliance, unemployment claims, and monitoring employment status within a designated area. The focus is on investigations, manager and supervisor training, and compliance, ensuring recruitment processes, practices, and tools meet regional goals related to non-billable overtime, security officer turnover, and account manager turnover.

Position Location: Office in St. Louis, MO.

Territory includes MO, KS, NE, and IA; 40% travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and document employee complaints, legal issues, EEOC charges, and focus groups.
  • Monitor NBOT; collaborate with recruiters on staffing solutions.
  • Ensure compliance in hiring, documentation, licensing, performance evaluations, and other HR activities.
  • Train managers and supervisors in employee relations and employment practices.
  • Oversee employee terminations and respond to unemployment claims.
  • Participate in employee retention and human capital initiatives.
  • Coach managers and HR designees.
  • Manage employee relations activities across the area, ensuring proper investigation and documentation.
  • Support legal and HR teams on sensitive investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, I-9s, leaves, personnel files, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Develop plans to reduce overtime and turnover with managers.
  • Assist in developing managerial skills through training and performance management programs.
  • Improve employee relations through effective communication, complaint resolution, and focus groups.
  • Enforce corporate policies appropriately.
  • Maintain communication with managers and HR leadership.
  • Travel regularly within the designated area to support operations and investigate serious allegations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration + 2 years HR Generalist experience.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Ability to train managers on employment law and HR processes.
  • Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR technology tools.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to operate a vehicle safely.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR certification.
