The Employee and Labor Relations Specialist will provide a broad range of professional employee and labor relations activities including but not limited to: employee consulting, training, conflict resolution, complaint investigation, policy and process development, application, enhancement and interpretation, and the preparation and delivery of related reports recommendations. They will work directly with the Union on all union related matters and will be responsible for the performance assessment process, as well as Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Workers Compensation administration.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business, or a related field
Experience: 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Certifications / Licenses: Other
Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR and contract negotiations. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism. Ability to develop, implement and interpret policies and processes, adapt and apply guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures to all programmatic aspects. Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, mediation, negotiation, conflict resolution skills.
Additionally, must employ exceptional organization and planning, prioritization, analytical, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills.
Further, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Workday is required.
Education: Master’s Degree in a related field
Experience: Professional training in labor law or collective bargaining
Certifications / Licenses: PHR/SPHR or SHRM CP/SHRM-SCP, SHRM Workplace Investigations Credential certification and higher education experience is preferred.
