Job summary

George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is seeking an Employee Relations Representative to strengthen employee relationships across offices and jobsites, aligning the workforce with the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

The role is primarily in-person with hybrid work capabilities up to two days a week, located at 3500 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OH. It requires collaboration with leaders and a focus on engagement, retention, and a positive employee experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience in HR, Employee Engagement, or related field.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel to offices, jobsites, and off-site events.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR guidance and support ownership decisions.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive workplace aligned with company values.
• Coach leaders and strengthen employee relations, engagement and retention.
• Create exceptional employee experiences across onboarding, recognition, engagement, and offboarding.
• Maintain visible HR presence across offices and jobsites; provide timely guidance.
• Lead recognition and engagement initiatives; monitor feedback and drive improvements.
• Support health, wellbeing, and confidential information handling.
• Navigate both unionized and non-union environments effectively.
