Job summary

South Carolina Department of Social Services is seeking an Employee Relations Consultant to implement and coordinate the employee relations program for the state's regions, overseeing 2000+ employees.

You will counsel management on disciplinary actions, HR policies, and laws, and guide employees through complaint and grievance processes. A Bachelor's degree plus two years of related experience is required; a Master's can substitute. Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and at least two years of experience in employee relations.
• Master's Degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide transcripts if offered.

Responsibilities

• Implement and coordinate the employee relations program for regions with 2000+ employees.
• Counsel and advise management on disciplinary actions, policies, and laws.
• Guide agency employees on complaint and grievance processes and HR laws.
• Plan training on EPMS, policies and HR regulations; ensure EEOC compliance.
• Coordinate with Legal Counsel to apply disciplinary guidelines and manage grievances.
• Maintain records and oversee FMLA processes and charge responses.
