Job summary

EOS IT Solutions is seeking a People Business Partner in a hybrid role based at our New Albany, OH client site. You will align business objectives with employees and management, collaborate across HR, and deliver value-added services reflecting the organization’s goals and financials.

You will serve as the primary ER contact, lead investigations, coach managers through discipline, and ensure compliance with employment laws while maintaining strong documentation and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing complex ER cases, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Experience supporting a California-based employer with strong knowledge of CA employment law.
• 3–4 years of hands-on ER experience in fast-paced or high-volume environments.
• Deep understanding of employment law, employee relations, compliance, and risk management.
• Ability to navigate sensitive situations with sound judgment, discretion and empathy.
• Experience advising leaders through difficult employee decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for investigation findings and documentation.
• High attention to detail with the ability to produce clear, defensible ER records.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic, business-oriented mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification (or ability to obtain within one year).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary ER contact for complex and high-risk cases, including investigations and terminations.
• Lead impartial workplace investigations with documentation review and witness interviews.
• Partner with managers to resolve ER issues and coach through disciplinary actions.
• Provide real-time guidance on policy interpretation and legal compliance.
• Ensure fair application of policies and employment laws across the organization.
• Advise on performance management, warnings, PIPs, and disciplinary outcomes.
• Manage sensitive matters such as harassment, discrimination, and leave-related issues.
• Escalate with legal counsel on high-risk or litigious matters as needed.
• Track ER trends and prepare defensible documentation for all cases.
• Support restructures, workforce changes, and terminations with risk mitigation.
• Conduct regular check-ins with business leaders to address ER concerns.
