Job summary

Iowa DOT seeks an Employee Relations Partner to deliver exceptional service to employees and leaders in Ames. You will conduct fair investigations, guide decisions, and champion integrity across policies and laws.

You will also share knowledge through coaching and training, building stronger leaders and a culture of accountability. This is a full-time, in-person role based in Ames, IA.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
• A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience in technical or professional human resources work.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes three years of full-time work performing technical human resources work.

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to partner for employees and leaders, listening closely, responding quickly, and guiding fair and respectful conversations.
• Lead fair, thorough investigations with interviews, documentation, and final recommendations to reflect fairness and integrity.
• Provide guidance on policies, codes, and laws with clarity, offering balanced, ethical advice and accountability.
• Share knowledge by teaching, coaching, and creating engaging training experiences to empower leaders.
