Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs specialized technical duties supporting the District's human resources and personnel functions for certificated and classified employees. The Employee Recruitment Specialist coordinates recruitment, candidate selection, interviews, examinations, and onboarding activities for certificated and classified positions, substitute teachers and other District staffing needs. This position serves as a key point of contact for applicants, candidates, new employees, administrators, and District staff throughout the recruitment and hiring process. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties
Recruitment & Hiring
- Coordinates recruitment and hiring processes for certificated and classified positions, substitute teachers, summer school/ESY programs, coaches, and other staffing needs.
- Prepares and maintains job postings, recruitment materials, eligibility lists, and candidate records.
- Communicates with applicants and candidates regarding application status, interviews, eligibility, and selection results.
Interview & Selection
- Coordinates and schedules written examinations, skills assessments, and oral interview panels.
- Prepares interview materials, calculates scores, communicates results, and maintains selection records.
- Coordinates the District's new-hire and onboarding process, including required documentation, Live Scan/fingerprinting, TB clearance, CPR, testing, and mandated training.
- Maintains accurate and confidential onboarding and personnel records and follows up with new employees and departments as needed.
- Assists applicants with credential applications and registrations and supports credential renewals and supplementary authorizations.
- Maintains fingerprinting records and coordinates confidential Live Scan processes.
- Provides support for various Human Resources functions and applies District policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining provisions as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of

Education & Experience
Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by post-secondary coursework in human resources, business or public administration, public policy, or a related field.
Experience: Three years of office support experience. Experience in human resources and/or a school district or public agency setting is desirable.
