Job summary

Homeland is seeking a Grocery Manager in Okemah, OK. This part-time role involves greeting customers, supervising grocery staff, and managing inventory and displays to minimize shortages.

You will train new employees, develop weekly schedules, and ensure store standards including cleanliness and safety. Prior grocery supervisory experience is preferred, with a High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and respond to questions or complaints while explaining store policies.
• Oversee hiring/firing decisions, discipline, promotions, and evaluations for grocery staff.
• Orient/train new grocery employees and retrain as needed.
• Develop weekly labor schedules for all grocery department staff for approval by the store manager.
• Implement weekly display plans for end-aisle merchandising and promotions.
• Supervise ordering and stocking to minimize out-of-stocks and manage inventory turns.
• Prepare backroom for merchandise receipt, check loads for shortages/overages, and sort cases for stocking.
• Supervise cleaning of floors, restrooms, carts, and stores areas; ensure safe use of cleaning equipment.
• Coordinate loading of stocking carts/pallets, move merchandise to floor, and maintain shelf/display faces.
• Record counts of merchandise for inventory and perform price-marking/labeling where needed.
• Transport damaged/unsalable and returnable items to backroom or reclaim center.
• Change signs, bulbs, tags and price markers; ensure accuracy of signage.
