Job summary

Westaff in Vermont is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Technician for an employee-owned environment. You will verify receipts, unpack and route shipments, reject damaged items, and process returns for credit or replacement.

Responsibilities include maintaining the inventory system, generating shipping documents, coordinating carrier pickups, promoting orderly storage and packaging, and ensuring a safe, clean work area while adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and 1 year of factory-related experience in shipping/receiving.
Ability to read and write English.
Ability to follow verbal instructions and use basic math.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Verify receipts for purchased and customer-supplied materials.
Unpack, examine, route shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages.
Process defective parts returns for replacement or credit.
Coordinate proper storage of materials and arrange packaging for shipping.
Administrate computerized Inventory System; generate shipping documentation.
Arrange carrier pickups as per customer PO shipping instructions.
Monitor freezer temperatures and conduct testing as needed.
Send material receipt notifications to customers; update supplier performance records.
Operate forklifts and hand trucks to move materials.
Maintain inventory of shipping materials and ensure a clean, safe work area.
