Job summary

Web Industries in Middlesex, VT, is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Technician for a full-time role. Shift: Mon–Thu 6:00am–4:30pm with occasional Fridays. You will verify receipts, prepare shipments, store materials, and coordinate carrier pickups to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, English literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to work on government contracts. Forklift operation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify receipt for purchasing and customer materials.
• Unpack, examine, route shipments; reject damaged items and process returns.
• Coordinate proper storage of materials (room temperature and freezer).
• Package items for shipping.
• Arrange carrier pickup per customer order.
• Monitor freezer temperatures; assist with testing.
• Operate forklifts and hand trucks to move materials.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials.
• Keep work area clean and follow safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The shipping and receiving technician position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Complete receipt verification for purchasing and customer supplied materials
• Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
• Coordinate proper storage of materials – this includes room temperature and Freezer conditions
• Arrange appropriate packaging for shipping
• Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
• Monitor freezer temperatures, assist in testing as needed
• Operates forklifts and hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper areas
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Performs any other function or responsibility as assigned

Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills:

• Minimum of a high school education or G.E.D. and one year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.
• Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math
• A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Must be able to work on govemment contracts

Additional PREFERRED Qualifications/Skills:

• Licensed forklift truck operator
• Operation of co-rolling equipment is desirable
