Job summary

Sundt is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead water and wastewater projects in the NW region. You will oversee safety, schedule, budget, and client relations, ensuring profitable and timely project execution.

Requires several years in project management within construction, preconstruction experience, and strong knowledge of contract documents. Travel within OR, WA, NV is expected.

Qualifications

• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Experience in preconstruction and in managing construction projects.
• Thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems, productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures is essential.
• Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Has several years experience working on water/wastewater projects.

Responsibilities

• Has overall responsibility for project success, including profitability, safety, schedule, quality and customer satisfaction as well as responsibility for personnel decisions that impact the project.
• Establishes the project charter and a comprehensive project management plan (PMP) including scope, procurement, environmental, time, financial, quality, safety and risk management plans.
• Participates in the business development process including client contacts, relationships, proposals, presentations, and negotiations for selected projects.
• Responsible for understanding and administering prime contract terms and conditions, contract documents, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, insurance, etc.
• Oversees budgeting and cost control to complete the project within approved budget with strong business acumen.
• Participates in preparation and review of estimates with attention to cost control, equipment, materials, manpower, schedules, insurance, etc.
• Leads transition from estimating to field, coordinating review meetings on contracts, schedules, budgets, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
• Coordinates with the Project Superintendent on means and methods for successful execution, monitoring resources.
• Develops the overall CPM schedule and coordinates with procurement and project engineer; ensures detailed schedule distribution and lean scheduling.
• Prepares Monthly Progress Reports with accurate cost projections.
• Reviews, negotiates, and executes change orders, supplements, and budget adjustments.
• Manages billings to ensure timely payments and positive cash flow; adheres to prompt pay laws.
• Completes close-out requirements, punch lists, and warranty callbacks promptly.
• Prevents and mitigates claims as needed.
