Job summary

Sundt is seeking a skilled contracts professional to negotiate terms and conditions for construction procurement on awarded projects. You will develop and review contracts with subcontractors, vendors, services, and suppliers end-to-end.

Ideal candidates have an engineering/CM background, with experience in contract development and negotiation; ability to work independently to meet deadlines, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
• LnEight Software experience highly encouraged.
• Past experience as an Engineer, Project Manager, or Estimator is desired but not required.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Communicate via phone and/or email to solve problems quickly.
• Analyze and understand prime and subcontract insurance certificates; coordinate with contract administrators for proof of insurance before execution.
• Detail-oriented and organized to facilitate timely reviews.
• Develop contracts using the LnEight system.
• Assist in negotiating terms and amendments in consultation with the legal department.
• Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors when required.
• Assist in establishing, negotiating, and ensuring compliance with Sundt's terms and conditions.
• Support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communications to the team as needed.
• Draft subcontracts and purchase orders for construction projects; unit price contracts knowledge is a plus.
• Understand construction estimates and budgets.
