Job summary

SEH in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our municipal roadway and utility projects, assisting with on-site construction observation, surveying, and design tasks alongside engineers and project managers.

This internship emphasizes collaboration, hands-on learning, and career development in an employee-owned firm, with opportunities to use AutoCAD and related software, gain field experience, and contribute to community infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Able and willing to report to the office and nearby civil construction sites during the summer 2027 season.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Completed or currently enrolled in engineering-related coursework.
• Interested in municipal engineering and/or land development projects.

Responsibilities

• Join a collaborative, close‑knit team working on municipal roadway and utility projects both on construction sites and in the office.
• Support field staff by assisting with on‑site construction observation, construction surveying, and staking.
• Assist project managers and engineers with project development and design tasks, while maintaining effective communication with staff, contractors, and clients.
• Accurately draft project information using AutoCAD and related software.
