Job summary

SEH, an employee‑owned engineering firm, seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Civil team in Saint Paul, MN for Summer 2027. You will gain hands-on experience on municipal roadway and utility projects, in the office and in the field, while collaborating with project managers, contractors, and clients.

The role supports field staff with observations, surveying, and staking; assists with design tasks and AutoCAD drafting; requires pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, willingness to report

Qualifications

• Pursuing a civil engineering degree with interest in municipal projects and fieldwork.
• Pursuing coursework related to civil engineering and site design.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist field staff with on-site construction observation, surveying, and staking.
• Assist project managers and engineers with project development and design tasks.
• Draft project information using AutoCAD and related software.
• Collaborate with staff, contractors, and clients to maintain clear communication.

This Opportunity

• Join a collaborative, close‑knit team working on municipal roadway and utility projects both on construction sites and in the office.

Essential Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Able and willing to report to the office and nearby civil construction sites during the summer 2027 season
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
• Completed or currently enrolled in engineering‑related coursework
• Interested in municipal engineering and/or land development projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with basic AutoCAD tasks through coursework or prior employment
