Job summary

Covenant House Alaska is seeking a People Support Specialist to aid onboarding, workforce administration, and employee engagement. You will maintain confidential records, support recruitment and onboarding, and partner with leaders to promote a respectful, inclusive workplace.

You will collaborate with employees, volunteers, and managers, handling intake, communications, and program administration while upholding confidentiality and high service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute education.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
• One year of experience in HR, administration, recruiting, customer service, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate onboarding and new hire processes, including reference checks and documentation.
• Assist with background checks, driving records, and compliance for volunteers and staff.
• Maintain accurate workforce records and ensure data confidentiality.
• Provide onboarding support, scheduling, and onboarding activities.
• Support employee engagement, recognition, Open Enrollment, and wellness initiatives.
• Assist Volunteers Manager with interview coordination and large volunteer events.
• Support communications and engagement initiatives across the People Team.
