Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Employee Onboarding & Induction – Coordinate the end-to-end onboarding experience for new employees, ensuring each employee receives a welcoming, organized, and consistent introduction to Victory Church. Partner with Hiring managers and departmental leaders to ensure department-specific onboarding plans are prepared and completed.

2. HR Administration and Employee Support – Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential electronic and paper (as applicable) employee records. Process routine employee changes and ensure supporting approvals and documentation are received. Respond to routine HR questions from employees, candidates, and supervisors.

3. Employment Offers and Pre-Employment Administration – Prepare employment offer letters and related employment documents following approved compensation, classification, reporting structure, and startdate information. Escalate discrepancies, unusual requests, or sensitive employment matters to the Executive Director of Employee Experience.

4. Feedback and Professional Learning – Coordinate professional learning opportunities primarily for team members serving in administrative, coordinator, associate director, support, and other non-management roles. Ensure that professional learning coordinated by this role remains focused on individual employee growth and job effectiveness as a primary goal. Assist with identifying practical learning needs through surveys, employee feedback, departmental requests, and organizational priorities.

5. Employee Voice and Staff Experience – Develop and administer appropriate opportunities for team members to provide feedback regarding workplace experience. Compile and organize employee feedback while maintaining appropriate confidentiality. Identify recurring themes and prepare summaries for review by the Executive Director of Employee Experience

6. Cultural Alignment and Staff Expectations – Reinforce Victory Church’s mission, values, culture, and established staff expectations throughout onboarding, induction, communication, and employeeexperience activities. Help ensure team members receive clear and consistent information regarding workplace expectation, policies, procedures, and standards of conduct. Coordinate required staff acknowledgements and assigned organizational trainings.

7. Other duties as assigned – such as payroll & benefits backup when needed, participating in department projects and supporting broader EE & Victory initiatives as assigned. Participate in all Employee Experience meetings, organizational staff meetings, trainings, and events as required.

1. Onboarding Readiness & Completion – Both new employees and managers are consistently and adequately prepared for onboarding by the established deadlines.

2. Professional Learning Participation & Effectiveness – Development of and participation in professional learning opportunities for administrative and non-management employees and employee feedback regarding the relevance and usefulness of the learning provided.

3. HR Record and Documentation Accuracy – Accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and timely filing of employee records, offer documentation, onboarding materials, acknowledgements, and assigned HR transactions.

4. EE Generalist Cultural Alignment – Demonstrated responsiveness, professionalism, confidentiality, discretion, follow-through, and alignment with Victory Church’s values and staff expectations in interactions with employees and leaders.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS
  • recruiting, onboarding or related administrative experience required.
  • Candidates with limited HR experience may be considered when they demonstrate strong administrative capability, sound judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to grow in the HR profession
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related discipline-related certifications such as SHRM-CP/SCP or HRCI preferred.
  • Any payroll and benefits administration experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced ministry environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
COMPUTER / SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Basic familiarity with applicable employment laws and the ability to recognize when a matter should be escalated.
  • Ability to act professionally with team members at all levels of the organization,
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare basic reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and environments or comparable productivity applications.
  • Experience using or the ability to learn HRIS, applicant-tracking, learning management, and payroll/benefit administration systems.
PURPOSE

The Employee Experience Generalist supports the daily Human Resources functions of Victory Church’s Employee Experience department and helps create a consistent, welcoming, and values-aligned staff experience throughout the organization. This role has a focused responsibility for employee onboarding and induction, HR recordkeeping, employee feedback and voice, and backup support for payroll and benefits administration.

You are part one of one team taking ownership and responsibility for the care and keeping of this house. You stay willing and eager to serve in big and small ways, from welcoming guests to picking up trash.
