Duties & Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, manage, and deliver engaging new employee orientation programs that align with Metropolitan Hospital’s culture of hospitality and person-centered care initiatives.
  • Develop programs and toolkits for employees and supervisors such as new hire success guides, manager orientation checklists, etc.
  • Conduct structured 30, 60, and 90-day employee check-ins to assess onboarding success, identify challenges, and ensure employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and senior leaders to integrate employee relations strategies with facility hospitality goals.
  • Design retention-focused initiatives and provide recommendations based on workforce data analytics and employee feedback; Work with Nursing and Operational leaders to implement new recommendations.
  • Partner with senior leaders to monitor turnover, vacancy trends, and engagement metrics; develop solutions that address identified gaps while enhancing overall workforce stability.
  • Support employee recognition and appreciation programs that reinforce a positive and welcoming work environment.
  • Act as a connector across departments, including Workforce Wellness and Care Experience, to ensure HR programs and hospitality initiatives are aligned and consistently applied.
  • Support and grow the Hospital’s Stars program for employee and department recognition.
  • Coordinate the Employee & Department of the Month program, highlighting and celebrating staff contribution that reflect Metropolitan’s values.
  • Assist with all employee engagement functions and activities across the facility.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Relations, Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Communications or a related discipline; or
  • Associate’s Degree or sixty (60) credits towards completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a discipline listed in 1 above or a related discipline; and two (2) of relevant experience in human resources or personnel administration, employee relations, learning and development, talent acquisition, customer service (involving dispensing information and resolving customer concerns), or in a related function requiring strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills and proficiency with technology, such as database management, Outlook, Peoplesoft, Oracle and other Microsoft Office applications.
