Job summary

USI is seeking an EB Account Manager to manage employee benefits accounts and serve as the day-to-day contact for assigned clients. You will provide consultative guidance and oversee service delivery to ensure satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

You will manage a portfolio of fully insured and some self-insured plans, liaise with carriers, educate clients on ERISA and related rules, and support wellness and enrollment programs. This role emphasizes strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in employee benefits or related marketplace.
• Active Life and Disability insurance license or ability to obtain within 4 months.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, exercising professional judgment while balancing multiple priorities.
• Skilled at reviewing complex information and developing client-focused solutions.
• Attention to detail with the ability to self-review work for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of business, primarily fully insured with some self-insured plans.
• Serve as the main liaison between clients and insurance carriers, delivering proactive support.
• Educate and advise clients on compliance matters (ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, Form 5500, Health Care Reform).
• Set up new group insurance contracts and oversee annual renewals.
• Implement and manage client programs like wellness initiatives and pharmacy programs.
• Support marketing and placement of new benefit products, including carrier evaluations and quote analysis.
• Develop cost-reduction strategies and opportunity identification.
• Champion cross-selling and contribute to growth and retention of client relationships.
• Coordinate, manage, and participate in client meetings, including on-site meetings.
• Develop employee communications for renewals/enrollment and resolve issues like billing.
• Stay up to date on industry developments and regulatory changes.
