Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Specialist to support coordination, development, and execution of client plans, renewals, and implementations. The role involves engaging with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate plan design and timely delivery of materials.

Responsibilities include pulling and analyzing benchmark data, managing RFP processes, coordinating open enrollment, and addressing inquiries.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with employee benefits and multiple lines of coverage (medical, dental, life, STD, LTD).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present to a range of professionals at each client.
• Knowledge of Health & Welfare compliance (HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, 5500, ACA, DOL).
• Life & Health Licensure or commitment to achieving it within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist with coordination, development, and execution of project plans and periodic client presentations.
• Support RFP, renewal, and implementation processes for client projects.
• Pull, analyze, summarize, and validate benchmark survey data for client plans.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Identify and understand negotiable elements of underwriting calculations for all lines of coverage.
• Manage post-implementation processes for all lines of insurance coverage.
• Coordinate renewal processes, census data, Schedule A requests, and ERISA Wrap documents.
• Respond to client inquiries by email, phone, and other information requests.
• Review plans for design accuracy and discrepancies.
• Conduct initial research for client projects and coordinate information and presentations with vendors.
• Assist with open enrollment and other employee-related communications.
• Coordinate billing and claim issues between clients and vendors.
• Collaborate with sales professionals, Consultants, and insurance carrier partners to support clients and team success.
• Provide employee benefits expertise to help clients understand how insurance solutions support long-term strategies.
