Job summary

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) is seeking a talented mid-level associate with 5-6 years of experience to join our Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation team in the St. Louis office.

The role offers opportunities to advise employers, plan sponsors, fiduciaries, and corporate clients on a broad range of retirement and welfare plan matters, ESOPs, and complex regulatory issues. This position emphasizes design, implementation, and ongoing administration of employee benefit programs,

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• 5-6 years of substantive employee benefits and executive compensation experience at a law firm or similar setting.
• Experience advising on ERISA and IRC requirements for retirement, welfare, and compensation arrangements.
• Experience supporting benefits matters in corporate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Executive compensation matters, including employment agreements, deferred compensation, equity incentive plans, and related tax considerations.
• Employee benefits and compensation issues in mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, or other transactions.
• ERISA compliance, fiduciary matters, and governmental audits.
• Design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of benefit and compensation programs.
• Drafting and reviewing plan documents, SPDs, agreements and disclosures.
• Advising clients on developments and regulatory changes.
