Job summary

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) seeks a mid-level associate with 5–6 years of employee benefits and executive compensation experience to join our nationwide team in Atlanta and other offices. You will advise employers, plan sponsors and corporate clients on retirement plans, benefits, ESOPs and executive compensation matters.

You will participate in sophisticated transactions, regulatory counseling and long-term governance of benefit programs, collaborating with market-leading

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• 5–6 years of substantive employee benefits and executive compensation experience.
• Experience advising on ERISA and IRC requirements related to retirement, welfare and comp.
• Experience supporting benefits matters in corporate transactions.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills.
• Strong project management and a client-service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive compensation matters including employment agreements and equity plans.
• Advise on ERISA compliance, fiduciary matters and governmental audits.
• Handle retirement plans including 401(k) and ESOP arrangements.
• Counsel on health and welfare benefit plans and related regulatory issues.
• Draft and review plan documents, amendments and SPDs.
• Support benefits matters in corporate transactions and restructurings.
• Advise on emerging benefits developments and regulatory changes.
