Job summary

SDI Staffing is seeking an Employee Benefits CSR for a benefits insurance agency in Mission Valley, CA. The role is in-office only, hours 08:00 am – 05:00 pm, direct hire, pay $27.88 to $31.00 per hour with bonus potential. IFP experience required and CA Life/Health license.

You will handle customer service with clients and carriers, assist with health plans, submit applications to underwriting, maintain databases, and support producers. Strong Excel/Outlook skills and group experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience working in health/benefits insurance.
• Active CA Life/Health license required.
• Must have IFP experience.
• Group experience is a plus.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with major carriers (e.g., Anthem, Sharp).
• Professional phone/customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and correspondence with clients and insurance companies.
• Assist with Health plans for prospects and current clients; Health, Dental, Vision, Life, etc.
• Assist in submission of applications to underwriting and follow up with insurers.
• Maintain databases, logs and other correspondence with accuracy.
• Research claims, underwriting follow-up and other customer service issues.
• Other duties as required and requested.

If preferred, the CSR can work out of the agency's Carlsbad or Murrieta office.

The Benefits CSR will need to have IFP (Individual and Family Plan) experience!

• HOURS: 08:00 am – 05:00 pm.
• DURATION: Direct Hire.
• WORKPLACE: In office only.
• PAY: $27.88 - $31.00 per hour, depending on experience + bonus potential.

Duties

• Customer Service, correspondence with clients and insurance companies and other support as needed for producers.
• Assist with Health plans for incoming prospects/current clients and referrals; Health, Dental, Vision, Life, etc.
• Assist in the submission of applications to underwriting, follow up with insurance companies to check on status and customer service on existing policies.
• Maintain database, logs and other correspondence with accuracy.
• Research claims, underwriting follow-up and other customer service issues.
• Other duties as required and requested.

Requirements
