SDI Staffing is seeking an Employee Benefits Account Manager in Redlands, CA. This in-office role requires 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits insurance and a California Insurance License. The position offers a competitive hourly pay of $30.00–$40.86 depending on experience, along with comprehensive benefits including 401(k) matching and health insurance.

The Account Manager will work closely with Producers to manage client accounts and support new business and renewals while maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a California Life, Accident & Health Insurance License.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• HOURS: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm (can later move to 8 am – 4:30 pm or 8:30 am – 5:30 pm)
• DURATION: Direct Hire
• WORKPLACE: This is an in-office position – on-site only.
• PAY: $30.00–$40.86 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.

Job Duties will include, but are not limited to:

In this client-facing role, the Account Manager will partner closely with Producers for new business, renewals, and day-to-day service. The ideal candidate has employee benefits insurance experience, including group medical, dental, life, and ancillary products, and a strong working knowledge of benefit plan basics.

Key Responsibilities

• New business: Support Producers with information gathering, applications, quoting, proposal preparation, and accurate data entry into the agency system.
• Renewals: Maintain the Expiration Report; partner with Producers to plan each renewal; gather renewal data and applications; obtain quotes; prepare proposals; assist with presentations; and update the agency system throughout the process.
• Open Enrollment support: Occasional travel may be required to support Open Enrollment meetings.
• Customer service: Provide day-to-day verbal and written support to clients, including questions on coverages, claims assistance, and policy changes.
• Maintain detailed, accurate account files and ensure documentation and correspondence are properly recorded in the agency management system.
• Scan, attach, and organize documents in the agency system to ensure complete, up-to-date records.
• Be available to clients, Producers, support staff, and leadership during normal business hours.
• Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge to effectively support clients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ recent experience working as an Employee Benefits Account Manager, working within an independent agency environment.
• Must have and also maintain a California Life, Accident & Health or Sickness Insurance License in good standing, including completing required continuing education on time.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Easy experience.
• Experience with SalesForce preferred.
• Knowledge of benefits administration processes and compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA).
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate client needs, benefits options, and market trends.
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable—able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, professional environment while collaborating with clients and teammates. Self-motivated and excited to keep learning in a specialized niche!
