The Jonus Group in Encinitas, CA is seeking an experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join a team. You will manage a book of employee benefits accounts, collaborating with HR professionals and business owners to grow the book of business.

The role requires strong benefits background, client-facing excellence, and leadership potential. Hybrid work arrangement and travel ~monthly are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Proficient with Ease and Employee Navigator in daily workflows.
• Strong client-facing communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of business of approx. 100 groups (small to mid-sized).
• Handle medical, dental, and vision lines of coverage.
• Work with fully insured and level-funded plans.
• Collaborate with major carriers (Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, HealthNet, Kaiser, Covered California).
• Use agency systems like Ease and Employee Navigator to manage accounts.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, HR, and business owners.
• Provide exceptional customer service and client satisfaction.
• Occasional local travel (~once a month).

Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and experienced Employee Benefits Account Manager to join a team. This role involves working closely with HR professionals, business owners, and clients to manage and grow a book of business consisting of employee benefits accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in employee benefits, excellent client-facing skills, and the ability to lead a team in the future.

Compensation Package

• Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
• Benefits: Competitive benefits package, 401(k), paid time off, professional development opportunities, etc.
• Work Schedule: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)

Responsibilities

• Manage a book of business consisting of approximately 100 groups, primarily small accounts with a few larger accounts (up to 200 employees).
• Handle lines of coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
• Work with fully insured and level-funded plans.
• Collaborate with top carriers such as Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, HealthNet, Kaiser, and Covered California.
• Utilize agency management systems like Ease and Employee Navigator to manage accounts effectively.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, HR professionals, and business owners.
• Provide exceptional customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
• Participate in occasional local travel (approximately once a month).

Qualifications/Requirements

• Licenses/Designations: Life & Health (L&H) license required.
• Experience: Proficiency in using Ease and Employee Navigator is a must.
• Preferred Experience: Prior experience managing employee benefits accounts, with a focus on small to mid-sized groups.
• Skills: Strong client-facing and communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
