Job summary

S Knights Recruitment is seeking an Employability Officer to support participants at the pre-work stage across West Yorkshire, including Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees and Calderdale.

You will help individuals overcome barriers, develop employability skills and prepare for progression into sustainable employment, delivering practical guidance and one-to-one support in a compassionate, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in employability, employment support or related environment.
• Experience supporting individuals facing barriers to employment.
• Strong understanding of employability skills and progression toward employment.
• Confident providing advice, guidance, coaching or mentoring.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to motivate and engage individuals with different needs and circumstances.
• Well organised with ability to manage a varied caseload or workload.
• Committed to helping individuals achieve positive progression outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Support participants at the pre-work stage and progression into employment.
• Identify individual needs, barriers and development areas through engagement.
• Provide practical employability guidance tailored to individuals.
• Help participants build confidence, motivation and workplace-readiness.
• Assist participants to develop employability skills and understanding of work.
• Work with participants to set realistic progression and employment goals.
• Maintain accurate records of participant activity and outcomes.
• Build positive relationships with participants and colleagues to support outcomes.
