Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited therapy program.
• 2–3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current Physical Therapy Assistant state license; CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides services under the direction of a licensed physical therapist, working as a trusted partner within the care team.
• Contributes to the physical therapist's effectiveness by identifying resident care issues and communicating them clearly.
• Administers treatment programs for residents with attentiveness to their comfort and individual needs.
• Documents resident care services according to approved medical and facility documentation procedures.
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and guiding residents in physical activities.
• Builds rapport and trust with residents to support recovery.
• Assists residents in using mobility devices such as crutches and canes.
• Instructs and counsels residents on therapeutic regimens and wellness.
