Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience with students with special needs preferred.
• Must be flexible to meet changing student needs and relate well to students, staff and parents.
• Positive attitude and ability to complete tasks independently.
• Strong office, computer and communication skills.
• Knowledge of child guidance principles and basic instructional methods.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous or designated one-to-one support to the assigned student.
• Assist student in accessing instruction, routines, and the general education environment.
• Modify or adapt materials as directed by licensed staff.
• Reinforce academic concepts and skills previously introduced.
• Provide prompts, cues, modeling, and reinforcement aligned with the student’s plan.
• Support the student’s functional communication across classroom and school settings.
• Maintain the student’s privacy and dignity during assistance.
• Follow district procedures and participate in required training.
