Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Electromyographic (EMG) Technician to support diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disorders. You will perform EMG tests, nerve conduction studies, and assist physicians with patient care.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of electromyography or neurodiagnostic testing experience.
  • Certification: CNCT or R. NCS.T. required.
  • Preferred: Associate's Degree in Neurodiagnostics or related field.
  • Preferred: CMA or RMA certification.
  • Preferred: BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct EMG tests and record results.
  • Perform nerve conduction studies (NCS) and document findings.
  • Maintain and calibrate EMG/NCS equipment.
  • Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort and safety.
  • Manage patient records, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
