Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a neurodiagnostic technician to operate NDC equipment and record brain activity. The role includes EEG/Long-Term Epilepsy monitoring, Evoked Potentials, and assisting with Botox procedures, with in-house training for advanced tests.

The position requires 1 year of clinical experience, a high school diploma, and certification in nerve conduction testing. BLS is required, and the employer stresses respect, teamwork and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered in Nerve Conduction Testing through AAET/ABEM.
• Must become board certified in major field of testing within three years.
• BLS certified.
• One year of experience in a clinic or inpatient setting.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates NDC equipment to record patients' brain waves or nerve impulses and documents data.
• Performs EEGs, long-term epilepsy monitoring, and drug-induced studies as competent.
• Prepare patients and explain procedures; ensure cooperation.
• Assist in preparing and positioning for BOTOX procedures; document accordingly.
• Troubleshoot equipment and coordinate with Biomedical Engineering for maintenance.
• Provide on-call and weekend coverage as assigned.
• Perform related clerical and technical duties in the lab.
