Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited EMG/EEG technician training program.
  • Certification as an EMG/EEG Technician (e.g., ABEM or equivalent).
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience performing EMG/EEG procedures in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for EMG and EEG procedures and address questions.
  • Set up and operate EMG and EEG equipment to record electrical activity.
  • Monitor patients during testing to ensure safety and maintain comfort.
  • Maintain and calibrate diagnostic equipment for accuracy and safety.
  • Document and analyze test results and provide reports to neurologists.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to review findings and assist in diagnosis.
  • Manage patient records and ensure HIPAA compliance.
  • Pursue ongoing education to stay current with neurodiagnostic advances.
