Job summary

The Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders is seeking an EMG/EEG Technician to support diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders. You will prepare patients, operate EMG and EEG equipment, and record data for physicians.

You will maintain equipment, document results, ensure patient comfort, and stay current with neurodiagnostic best practices through ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and accredited EMG/EEG training.
• Certification as EMG/EEG Technician (e.g., ABEM).
• BLS certification.
• Experience performing EMG and EEG procedures in a clinical setting.
• Solid understanding of neuroanatomy and electrophysiology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for EMG and EEG by explaining procedures and addressing questions.

The EMG/EEG Technician plays a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders by performing electromyography (EMG) and electroencephalography (EEG) tests. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited EMG/EEG technician training program.
• Certification as an EMG/EEG Technician (e.g., through the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine or equivalent).
• Basic life support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated experience performing EMG and EEG procedures in a clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of neuroanatomy and electrophysiological principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or higher in neurodiagnostic technology, health sciences, or a related field.
• Additional certifications such as Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) or Registered EMG Technologist (R. EP T.).
• Experience with advanced neurodiagnostic equipment and software.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
