Job summary

Milwaukee School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time Learning Experience Designer - Emerging Technologies to join the CREATE Institute. This role leads exploration, integration, and promotion of emerging technologies across MSOE’s curricula, supporting faculty in adopting digital tools and pedagogical approaches to enhance learning, engagement, and accessibility.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional design, faculty development, or supporting technology integration in learning environments.
• Experience with emerging technologies such as AI, AR/VR, or data analytics in education.
• Knowledge of pedagogical frameworks and instructional design principles (e.g., UDL, active learning, experiential learning).
• Experience designing professional development for faculty or adult learners.
• Familiarity with LMS platforms and digital learning ecosystems (Canvas, Panopto, MS Teams).
• Knowledge of copyright law, WCAG 2.1, and ADA compliance in an academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and pilot emerging technologies relevant to teaching and learning.
• Partner with IT to improve procedures for integrating emerging technologies into curricula and resources.
• Monitor trends and best practices in emerging technologies and translate them into actionable initiatives.
• Develop, curate, and maintain a repository of technology-enhanced teaching resources.
• Ensure resources are accessible and aligned with learning outcomes and initiatives.
• Contribute to evaluating effectiveness of technology integration initiatives.
