Long Island Rail Road is seeking an Emergency Management Officer, Emerging Talent Intern to support the OEM team at Hillside. The position requires in-person work at the Hillside facility with a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week.

The role focuses on grants research, training coordination, data management, and reporting while developing practical emergency management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day assistance such as scheduling meetings and supporting coordination calls.
• Assist with OSHA Title 29 CFR Part 1910 Subpart E compliance.
• Identify potential funding opportunities and maintain grant database.
• Prepare draft summaries and organize grant submissions.
• Schedule training, track attendance, and manage logistics.
• Maintain project records, budgets, and reporting metrics.
• Organize repositories for plans and SOPs for audits.
• Deliver a final 30-minute PowerPoint presentation on learnings.
