Supervises customer service associates and designated hitters. Responsible for managing the front end of the store and making recommendations on the overall operations of the Pharmacy and Retail Store.
Supports Store Manager with the overall operation of the store to achieve company deliverables; works alternate schedule with the Store Manager with minimal overlap; assumes responsibilities of all store activities in the absence of the Store Manager. Ensures proper merchandising, protection of store assets, and improves store sales and profitability.
Leads and manages store team members, including recruitment, hiring, performance management, and discipline of direct reports to ensure teams are engaged and responsible for their duties.
Customer Experience
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolves customer complaints promptly and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience. Shares customer service best practices.
- Monitors customer service, provides coaching, training, and develops improvement plans for both front-end and pharmacy teams. Empowers team members to find impactful resolutions, exceeding customer expectations and building loyalty.
- Accountable for improving overall customer service metrics.
Operations
- Supervises store operations and team activities, including assigning daily tasks, delegating, opening/closing shifts, approving time records, managing schedules, and ensuring proper team coverage.
- Collaborates with external partners to support community outreach and external partnerships, assisting the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
- Supports data-driven decision making by leveraging data, analysis, and team input; monitors impact and follows up.
- Supervises cash management, including register counts, bank withdrawals, armored car pickups, and safe deposits.
- Oversees inventory management for front end and pharmacy, analyzing trends and creating corrective action plans; trains team members accordingly.
- Ensures operational standards, cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of the store environment.
- Ensures team proficiency with computer systems and technology.
- Maintains compliance with all policies, laws, and regulations, including sale of alcohol, tobacco, food, and pharmacy products.
- Completes special assignments as needed.
Business Performance Management
- Analyzes financial and performance data; develops action plans to meet business goals.
- Uses KPIs and other tools to engage the team and identify sales opportunities, supporting store growth initiatives.
- Supports pharmacy operations during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician if needed.
People & Performance Management
- Leads and trains team members, providing coaching, mentoring, and career development support. Manages performance, discipline, and recognition.
- Recruits, builds talent pipelines, and manages staffing needs, ensuring diversity and future leadership development.
- Follows proper procedures for hiring, training, and recordkeeping, complying with legal requirements.
- Establishes a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.
Training & Personal Development
- Completes Store Manager learning and development programs, including certifications and training as assigned.
- Monitors personal performance, seeks feedback, and pursues self-development with an Individual Development Plan.
- Maintains valid pharmacy technician license as required by state.
Communications
- Maintains open communication with team through meetings and discussions, addressing questions and concerns.
- Assists in planning and communicating store and company strategies.
- Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, leadership skills, completion of Store Manager training, fluency in English, flexible working hours, and willingness to relocate or transfer as needed.
