Job summary

First Student in Billings, Montana is launching a Manager in Development (MID) program. This on-site, full-time role offers hands-on leadership training with rotations across operations, dispatch, safety, and HR, and a path to advance within the company.

You’ll work closely with seasoned Location Managers, build staff relationships and help deliver safe, reliable transportation for students. Relocation within MT, WA or ID may be required after program completion.

Qualifications

• Leadership and a drive to learn and grow.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, people‑first environment.
• Must be based in Billings or willing to relocate for the role.
• Previous operations or management experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Dive into daily operations and learn how to run a location from the ground up.
• Rotations across dispatch, road supervision, safety, finance, and HR.
• Support staffing, scheduling, safety and compliance with managers.
• Lead projects, troubleshoot issues and drive process improvements.
• Build relationships with staff, drivers, and school partners.
• Support the Location Manager and help deliver safe, reliable service daily.
