Job summary

EwingCole in Philadelphia is seeking a Lighting Design Intern to participate in lighting design and documentation under the supervision of a senior lighting designer. The internship provides mentorship on design techniques, lighting processes, technical lighting, and client presentation skills.

Interns will gain hands-on experience with AGI32 calculations, IES standards, and collaboration with architecture and MEP teams, while observing budget considerations and product selection for projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor or master program in EE, Arch Eng, or Architecture.
• Experience with engineering calculation tools and equipment selection software.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform lighting design calculations using AGI32 to guide fixture selection.
• Assist with lighting documentation and coordination with other disciplines.
• Review lighting products for quality, cost and maintenance implications.
• Support in-house meetings, construction administration tasks and project markups.
