Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division is seeking a Young Adult and Leadership Development Specialist to equip corps leaders, train volunteers, and resource divisional youth programs. This role drives strategic initiatives for emerging leaders and coordinates across multiple corps to strengthen mission impact.

Reporting to the Divisional Youth Director, the position emphasizes ownership, planning, and independence to advance youth-related goals in the division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience leading, coordinating, and planning youth/young adult ministry programs.
• Experience developing leadership development initiatives and trainings.
• Valid Driver’s license/MVR clearance.
• Salvation Army experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult corps to assess current young adult ministries and measure effectiveness; offer solutions and resources.
• Establish and manage divisional young adult databases and touchpoints.
• Develop and execute plans for young adult ministries where they do not exist in the division.
• Establish resources for corps leaders and conduct trainings across the division.
• Coordinate on-site visits to corps for ministry programming and feedback.
