Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division is seeking a mentoring program coordinator to lead youth mentoring initiatives, recruit and onboard mentors, and ensure program quality. The role involves coordinating with parents/guardians, schools, and community partners to support youth development and safety.

Responsibilities include supervising mentor-mentee activities, organizing events, evaluating outcomes, and maintaining program policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services, business management or related field preferred.
• Three years of mentoring, youth development, and/or volunteer programming experience desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, confidentiality, and ability to work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and onboarding of mentors and mentees; manage inquiries and enrollment.
• Monitor and support mentor-mentee relationships; plan group events and retention activities.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with schools and community organizations to support program implementation.
• Attend trainings and maintain program policy and manual; ensure safety and confidentiality.
