Job summary

CMI is seeking a motivated Sales Trainee to join our Rental Department. This program trains you in heavy equipment knowledge, customer service, and rental operations with the goal of advancing to full sales responsibilities.

Prior equipment sales experience is not required; a dependable, curious candidate who communicates well with customers will thrive and may travel locally as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Learn features and operating capabilities of rental and sales equipment.
• Assist customers in selecting equipment for projects.
• Learn the rental process from inquiry to delivery and return.
• Gain hands-on product knowledge in yard and on-site.
• Assist with rental quotes, agreements, and documentation.
• Develop understanding of availability, transportation, and rates.
• Communicate with customers about projects and needs.
• Coordinate deliveries, pickups, inspections, and returns.
• Work with sales, rental, parts, and service teams to support customers.
