Job summary

DLA Piper’s San Diego office seeks associates at multiple levels for its Emerging Growth & Venture Capital group. The role centers on working with emerging growth companies and the institutional investors that back them.

The ideal candidate has at least two years’ experience representing both institutional investors and issuers in venture capital financings, as well as experience with M&A and advising emerging growth companies on a range of corporate matters.

Qualifications

• JD required or equivalent professional credential.
• Experience with venture capital financings and M&A in an AmLaw 100 firm preferred.
• Experience advising emerging growth companies on day-to-day corporate matters.

Responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and analysis to support transactions.
• Draft briefs, contracts, and correspondence with high quality.
• Manage transactions from inception to closing with sound judgment.
• Interact with clients and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with lawyers and business professionals to develop strategy.
• Attend hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and firm citizenship.
