Job summary

Geosyntec aspires to grow an Early-Career Geotechnical-Civil Engineer in our St. Louis, MO office. You will apply academic knowledge to real-world projects including site characterization, landfill design, earth retaining structures, foundations, dams, and geohazard assessment.

The role involves fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting, with opportunities to learn business skills in a consulting environment. Travel and rigorous safety standards apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil, geological, and/or environmental engineering (required).
• Advanced degree in a related field (preferred).
• Experience with contaminated media or remediation technology (preferred).
• Internship experience in environmental consulting (preferred).
• Experience with geotechnical software and analysis tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Slope/W, PLAXIS).
• Regular field work and overnight travel required.
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and drug/back-ground testing required.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and clean driving record for business travel (required).

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field investigations.
• Monitor heavy civil construction projects.
• Perform soil, surface water and groundwater sampling, drilling, and contractor oversight.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations and reports.
• Engage in earthquake engineering and landfill design/permitting.
• Evaluate dams and levees; oversee groundwater and soil remediation evaluations.
• Prepare technical reports, letters, and proposals.
• Drive company vehicles to project sites as needed.
