Job summary

WSP is seeking an early career Electrical Engineer for our Arlington, VA office, starting Summer 2027. You will support substation design, diagrams, and documentation while learning industry standards and safety practices.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and up to 1 year of experience, with strong writing and collaboration skills. The role offers a clear path for professional growth and hands-on exposure to diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • 0–1 year of post-education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • General understanding of electrical engineering in design.
  • Familiar with codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency with technical writing and office tools.
  • Familiar with design software: Revit, AutoCAD, Aspen, CAPE.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting and analyzing data for substation components and pricing.
  • Assist with designing single line and three-line diagrams, layouts, grounding grid.
  • Develop electrical calculations for loads, sizing, voltage drop, and protection.
  • Generate documentation using drawings and field logs.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks and travel as needed.
