Job summary

Bear Real Estate Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in Milwaukee, WI, to support commercial and multi-family construction from planning through closeout. You will assist in planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring activities, and may lead smaller projects under PM oversight.

The role requires collaboration with Project Manager and Superintendent, strong communication, and a focus on safety and efficiency across project phases.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or equivalent.
• 2–4 years minimum construction industry experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Software literacy: PlanGrid, Procore, Revit, MS Project, Smartsheet.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization.
• Detail oriented with ability to analyze and organize large information.
• Advanced knowledge of safety and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and coordination of project activities.
• Support Project Manager and Superintendent to create and update project schedules.
• Coordinate tasks, deliverables, and documentation.
• Assist in submittal reviews, pay applications, and takeoffs.
• Manage procurement, lead-times, and deliveries; track change orders.
• Maintain project logs, submittals, shop drawings and current plan set.
• Communicate project status with owners; attend meetings as needed.
• Support pre-construction buyout, VE, constructability, and logistics.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors; manage RFIs.
• Oversee safety and assist with closeout, punch lists, and O&M packages.
