Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc is seeking a civil/structural drafting professional with 2+ years of experience to design routine civil/structural drawings under supervision. You will work to ensure drawings adhere to department standards and project specifications, supporting field teams with design information and verifications.

The ideal candidate will produce concrete and structural steel drawings, be familiar with material specs, and use CAD tools (AutoCAD or Microstation).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural drafting and design.
• Ability to produce drawings for concrete and structural steel, and/or civil disciplines.
• Familiarity with company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Working knowledge of CAD software, either AutoCAD, Microstation or both.
• Gaining proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good presentation skills.
• Virtual team skills and cross divisional relationships continue to develop, and providing interoffice execution support under close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
• Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
• Familiarity with structural calculations, equipment drawings and layouts or drawings from other disciplines before initiating drafting effort on any specific item.
• Drafting civil/structural plans under close supervision.
• Being knowledgeable of basic civil material specifications to the extent that all information required for material purchase, fabrication and construction is reflected on the finished drawings.
• Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
• Assisting teammates in performing field related work collecting design information and verifying designs for tie-ins, function and clearances to existing facility.
