Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager for its Commercial Construction team in Raleigh, NC. The role involves obtaining and distributing information to keep projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality. It’s a beginner-level leadership track with growth as you learn our processes and grow client relations.

You will support meetings, MOUs, and robust documentation, while collaborating with field teams to drive project milestones and successful closeout.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; four-year degree in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred
• 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction, including work with a commercial general contractor
• Previous experience on commercial job sites is strongly preferred
• Passion for construction with a commitment to quality
• Strong written and verbal communication tailored to business audiences
• Ability to master sector software systems including MS Office, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards

Responsibilities

• Maintain adherence to safety standards
• Ensure required documentation is filed
• Assist in creating and managing project budgets for assigned projects
• Develop pre-construction RFP packages
• Assist in conducting project meetings, setting milestones and owner reports
• Establish job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay apps) and approve pay applications
• Update project schedule and ensure quality control and logistics
• Assist in managing the closeout process
• Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team
