Job summary

Veterinary Specialty Center Seattle is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician – Emergency to join our 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital in Lynnwood, WA. You will train under board-certified criticalists and support doctors across multiple services, with strong mentorship and teaching opportunities.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) in WA or ability to obtain prior to start.
• Foundation in emergency and critical care nursing, including patient triage.
• Comfort with advanced ECC skills, such as oxygen therapy management and transfusion monitoring.
• Ability to identify emergency patterns and respond appropriately.
• Clear communication skills to support pet parents during stressful situations.
• Team-focused mindset and collaborative approach.
• Commitment to Fear Free and low-stress handling.
• Growth-oriented with a desire to learn in a teaching environment.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians in delivering high-quality, compassionate patient care and educate clients.
• Triage incoming emergency patients and gather complete histories.
• Perform and assist with inpatient and outpatient diagnostic tests and treatments.
• Assist with procedures and surgeries, including anesthesia support.
• Initiate and monitor blood product transfusions.
• Provide attentive nursing care to ICU patients following hospital standards.
• Maintain accurate medical records and histories.
• Prepare patients for discharge and clearly communicate instructions to pet parents.
• Maintain clean, organized treatment areas, labs, and exam rooms.
• Foster a positive team environment through collaboration with colleagues.
