Job summary

The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Washington, DC is seeking a part-time Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team. You’ll handle a wide range of cases, collaborate with doctors, and deliver gold standard, emotionally intelligent care for pets and their families.

You’ll be involved in triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing, while growing your skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or higher in veterinary technology preferred.
• Credentialed as a veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the state of the VEG practice is required; VTS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Treat every patient and person with compassion; support pet parents through testing and treatments.
• Deliver nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with IVs, monitoring, blood products, and anesthesia as needed.
• Collaborate with doctors and teammates to keep care flowing smoothly.
• Maintain proficient use of diagnostic tools and EMR systems.
