Job summary

The Ohio State University’s Veterinary Medical Center seeks a Veterinary Care Assistant 2 to join the Small Animal ECC team. You will assist clinicians and staff in caring for ill and injured animals and support students in daily operations.

Responsibilities include basic patient care, specimen collection, assessment, restraint, transport, cleaning, stocking, and clerical tasks. 40 hours/week, rotating weekends/holidays; background check required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months of veterinary experience preferred.
• Willingness to work rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care and monitoring for ill/injured animals.
• Assist with collection of lab specimens (blood, urine, feces).
• Assist with patient assessment, restraint, and treatments.
• Transport patients within the center and to necropsy as needed.
• Stock supplies, clean housing, and maintain sanitation protocols.
