Ohio State University’s Veterinary Medical Center in Columbus seeks a Veterinary Care Assistant 2 for Emergency/Critical Care on the second shift. You'll assist clinicians and staff in daily operations, provide basic patient care, and help with lab sample collection, treatments, and comforting hospitalized animals.

Responsibilities include animal housing, monitoring patients, loading/unloading, transporting, cleaning areas, and supporting operations while adhering to safety and sanitation

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 6 months veterinary experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide basic patient care functions.
• Assist in collection of lab specimens (blood, urine, feces) for testing.
• Assist with patient assessment, restraint and treatments.
• Assist with training student employees in prescribed care of animals.
• Comfort and care for hospitalized animal patients.
• Walk patients and maintain housing, food and water.
• Monitor patients and notify supervisor of changes.
• Assist with admission and discharge of patients and transport within the center.
• Stock supplies and maintain cleanliness of treatment, surgical areas and housing units.
